Persuasive Language
Year Group: 8
Subject Area: English
Brief details of idea: This project aims to use the skills of persuasive language
and other forms of communication as taught in English to produce a magazine
/ newsletter, which promotes youth hostels as a business and a lifestyle.
As part of the project the students will use the Internet to
carry out research into the industry as well as plan and organize
a trip to a youth hostel. During this visit the students will
learn about the financial aspects of the business, draw a comparison
with other forms of visitors’ accommodation in the area,
as well as visit local businesses.
