Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership have been working closely with Merrill Lynch to develop a new programme of enterprise learning activities, focussing on Year Groups 8 and 9. The programme started in April 2005 and is due to run for the next two years.

Activities developed under the programme will be regularly posted on this website so that teachers can download and use in their own schools, as applicable.

Activities

We have devised a lesson plan called 'Basic Beliefs' that teachers can use as part of their citizenship lessons - i takes 100 minutes to deliver.

The objective of Basic Beliefs is to discuss the type of principles that a successful company such as Merrill Lynch has adopted, principles such as Team work, Responsible Citizenship, Respect for the Individual etc.

The students then have to develop their own principles for their school or community. A detailed lesson plan has been produced which teachers can either use on their own or with the help of local business people.
