Year Group: 8
Subject Area: Mathematics
Brief details of Idea: This is a 1-day exercise with lots
of opportunity to follow up and learn. Different groups will ‘play’ different
countries selling different products with different currencies, measurement

The exercise will thus illustrate some of the problems
of world trade, but also how these problems need to be overcome and
the benefits that then flow from countries co-operating in trade.
The idea is that the exercise will take place in the school foyer offering
lots of opportunity for team playing and interaction.
Hence this exercise
will teach a number of enterprise and entrepreneurial skills within
the context of world trade such as geographical and economic research,
market research, mathematics, the role of money etc as well as team
