The Coaching Project
Final
Evaluation
This project gave students the opportunity to develop a
strong knowledge base of coaching expertise. Through the
7 units they studied, pupils were able to build on and extend their
knowledge and understanding of the importance of Physical exercises,
activities and tasks. Simultaneously, the project allowed students
to embark on new news skills and abilities required by the practical
aspect of the course. Through leading and participating in the sporting
games and tournaments, students were applying and reinforcing the
theoretic aspects of the project studied in the various units.
Throughout the entire duration of the course,
all participants had to establish an excellent form of communication
which proved to be vital for successfully completing the project
and liasing with the primary feeder pupils. Both internal and external
forms of communications were utilised. Swanlea students had to promote
the development of ideas to students in Years 5 and 6 and lead discussions
on rules and regulations in the field of sport.
The badminton, basketball and football tournaments were
all a great achievement for both Swanlea students and the
school as a whole. Furthermore students in year 7 and Primary pupils
were extremely satisfied with the quality of coaching they received
from the leaders of the project and hope to build on their collaborative
relationship beyond the completion of this project.
